DayGlo Exhibition Intern Waterloo Arts, in partnership with the DayGlo Color Corp, is in their 5th year of running a special black-lit summer exhibit. DayGlo Color Corp distributes fluorescent paint to 40 local artists, who then collaborate on an entirely black-lit show. The intern will work with a Cleveland artist to create a DayGlo installation at the annual street festival, help the organization reach a broader audience by creating marketing material for teachers that emphasizes the STEM aspect of the exhibit, and engages artists by organizing tours of the facility, plans a DayGlo workshop, and creates evaluation tools for education programming related to the exhibit. S/he will also conduct research to determine the feasibility of expanding this exhibition opportunity to include international artists.
Qualifications The student is a collaborative, creative individual, with superb listening and problem-solving skills. S/he is a self-starter and eager to expand Waterloo’s audience. Preference will be given to students studying art history, fine arts, or a related field. Experience in marketing/event-planning is a plus.
