Dramaturgical Research Intern In this summer internship opportunity, the Dramaturgical Research Intern will collect and organize research for four upcoming productions at Central Square Theater, the home of Underground Railway Theater and The Nora Theatre Company. This project will include reading and developing strategy portfolios for The Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, Guards at the Taj by Rajiv Joseph, and Constellations by Nick Payne.
This research will have an emphasis on visual imagery and background on the selected scripts (how it is related to past productions, and the play’s themes). The Intern will also research Boston-area individuals and organizations with special expertise regarding the themes of each play, and, with the Artistic Director’s supervisión, arrange informational interviews.

Developing strategy portfolios for the Theater’s four upcoming productions
Taking a lead role in professional theater community outreach
Assisting in a workshop about using visual arts to teach across curriculums
Qualifications The intern needs to be able to demonstrate skills in research, organization, and administration. Though they will regularly meet with full-time staff, they should also demonstrate the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate has a background or demonstrated interest in Visual Arts or Art History.
