The student will gain knowledge about non-profit fiscal health and how it is connected to the various aspects of programming and administration. Student will also be preparing monthly budget report for distribution to department heads. Intern should have a serious interest in non-profit organizations, finance, and accounting in the arts. The Finance Intern will become familiar with key aspects of fiscal accountability for the board of trustees, donor prospect research and crucial components of developing and organizing fundraising events.
The major project that the Finance Intern will work on will be the Fiscal Year 2013’s Annual Budget distribution to department heads. This project involves creating organizational and departmental plan and budget reports of the board approved budget to the various department managers. The packets they will compile include organizational and departmental project calendars, prioritized goals and objectives and departmental budgets. The Finance Intern will report directly to the Finance Manager and will assist with organization and facilitation of various kinds of reports and financial critical thinking and accountability. Primary responsibilities include reconfiguring accounting systems, organizing budget information for distribution to department heads and managers.

Qualifications:
The Finance Intern should be detail oriented, energetic, and motivated. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential. Intern should have a serious interest in non-profit organizations, finance, and accounting in the arts.
