Collections Intern The Arts Intern will create a Collections inventory with a focus on the extensive work of Marianne Moore, whose collection at the Rosenbach contains objects, books, photographs, and 150 linear feet of archival material related to her prolific career as a poet.
As the intern becomes familiar with the Moore collection, s/he will research the objects in the living room as they relate to Moore’s poetry. The intern will incorporate these findings into the current Marianne Moore Hands on Tour (HOT) and then develop their own HOT about poetry in the Rosenbach collection. The intern will present the tour to the public, and train full-time staff in presenting this tour in the future.
Updating locations in collections catalog entries in PastPerfect for 3D objects and photos
Creating new records for 3D objects and photos
Expanding on search terms and key words used in Museum database
Researching Marianne Moore and related objects in the living room
Giving and teaching staff a tour about the Rosenbach’s poetry collection
Qualifications The intern is detail-oriented and excellent with complex numbering systems, as this is a huge part of the internship. S/he has a background in art, art history, poetry, English, or history. Preference will go to students with an interest in Modernist poetry.
