Curatorial Intern This internship opportunity is designed to give the student an understanding of the balance between a museum’s public face and the behind-the-scenes planning of museum exhibitions. The Curatorial Intern will assist in the coordination of Summer and Fall 2017 exhibitions, in addition to researching ongoing video and permanent collection projects. The intern will have the opportunity to work on exhibition installation, de-installation, and documentation.
The Curatorial Intern’s primary project responsibilities will include: archiving past exhibitions, conducting artist research to prepare for upcoming exhibitions, and preparing condition reports and loan agreements. The intern will work closely with Curatorial and Registrar staff, visiting the Artists-in-Residence studios and learning to maintain the collections database.
Qualifications The Curatorial Intern must have excellent writing and research skills. The ideal candidate is highly-organized, able to handle multiple ongoing projects, and has a strong interest in curation. He/she should also have knowledge of the contemporary art world and modern art. Preference will be given to students who major/minor in Art History, Visual Culture, or a related field.
