The Intern will assist with administrative and publication projects related to the 2016 exhibitions: LANDMARK, Folly 2016 [the annual architectural competition], and the 2016 Emerging Artist Fellowship (EAF) Residency and Exhibition. S/he will create the first draft of the EAF16, and LANDMARK catalogues, and steward through its completion the Folly 2016 publication. In addition the Intern will provide support to the 15 artists-in-residence throughout the summer.
Through this internship, the Intern will gain experience working on exhibition publications in various phases from a research to print. S/he will learn how to use concise email and in-person communication to manage individual artist projects within a group exhibition.
Responsibilities include - - Develop table of contents, manage images, content and layout for the three 2016 exhibition publications: LANDMARK, Folly, and EAF16, under the supervision of the Director of Exhibitions - Manage Folly 2016 publication through completion in print - Research in the archive and scan images and content for 30th anniversary publication - Develop and manage studio visit calendar for the 2016 EAF studio residency - Provide basic administrative support for EAF artists-in-residence - Correspond with artists-in-residence and SSP staff
Qualifications Candidates should possess strong organizational skills and have a working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop software, an understanding of typography, layout and print production, and experience with Internet research. Applicants should be flexible, responsive, eager to learn, thorough, and possess strong communication skills.
