Finance Intern

Museum of the Moving Image

The Finance Intern will assist in preparing for the Museum's year-end audit and in budget preparation. The intern will be involved with planning for the new fiscal year and with analyzing results of the year just ending. As a member of the Finance and Administration department, the intern will be exposed to all areas -- from ticketing for special events to our upcoming capital renovation and expansion project -- and will learn about financial management and operations, with a particular emphasis on the Development activities of the Museum. The intern will assist with the development of various reports, will prepare supporting schedules for the year-end audit, and will assist with entering, organizing, and maintaining data in the Museum's financial system. She/he will assist with day-to-day department duties from reconciling credit card receipts and processing deposits.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Candidates must be able to think analytically, be detail oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills, and have knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Accounting or Finance majors preferred.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate financial aid by having filed the United States Department of Education- Student Aid Report (SAR) and have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $6,000 or less for the most recent academic year. Interns must present their financial aid award letter from their college or university, as well as their SAR, at the time of their interview.
