Education Intern

The Education intern will work as a teaching assistant in our SummerArts program for teens. SummerArts, now in its twelfth year, is a five-week, in-depth studio experience for aspiring teen artists interested in exploring art and culture in a museum environment. Students work closely with celebrated artists to learn innovative approaches to painting, video production, sculpture, and ceremonial arts. The interns will primarily serve as teaching assistants to the studio art teachers. Interns will be involved in general education department projects.
The intern will:
  • Prepare art and editing studio for SummerArts classes.
  • Assist teaching artists during painting, video production, sculpture, ceremonial arts,
  • and museum studies classes.
  • Chaperone students on visits to other cultural institutions.
  • Work with education staff on planning a showcase of student work.
  • Design invitation and program for culminating event.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed.
