Marketing & Communications Intern The Marketing & Communications Intern will assist the Sculpture Center in boosting their audience. The intern will learn how to identify community leaders, activists, and arts advocates in different communities, and develop marketing and public relations strategies to reach their constituents.
Developing and implementing marketing strategies to reach diverse and underserved communities in the Center’s immediate neighborhoods, to invite local groups for free tours of the summer exhibition
Creating a public outreach event to take place during the summer exhibition
Working as a gallery supervisor on Saturday afternoons to guard galleries, greet the public, and provide the public with interpretative tours
Qualifications The intern must be organized, self-motivated, and outgoing. As a large part of the internship requires the intern to be conducting outreach, s/he needs to be comfortable engaging with strangers through e-mail, phone calls, in-person interactions, and public outreach events. Preference will go to students with a major in marketing, Africana Studies, or art history. Experience with digital photography and basic editing skills a plus.
