Education Department Intern at the John Brown House Museum The intern will research and develop interactive family engagement and activity materials for the John Brown House Museum. The intern will improve on the existing educational tools, specifically tailoring them to provide family-friendly at the museum. These tools will provide an enhanced experience to younger, as well as special needs, visitors to the John Brown House Museum.
Projects include: - Design family activity materials that enhance visitor engagement in the museum. - Review current exhibits and conceptualizing how they could be engaged with from a younger perspective. - Help visitors to the museum, as well as helping organize and run events at the Museum. - Design and create a packet of activity materials that complement the existing infrastructure of the John Brown House Museum.
Qualifications - Strong interest in archival research - Basic illustration and design skills, include good aesthetic sense - Efficiency in synthesizing higher concept research and presenting it for younger audiences - Comfortable working in an institutional environment
