In this internship, the student will support the development department in prospect research and its day-to-day fundraising activities, primarily through Internet research and use of the Foundation Center database. Students will be engaged with light phone interaction, writing and database work using Raiser's Edge.
Compile and prepare preliminary research on board members, potential donors and research foundation prospects. The intern will use the Foundation Center’s online database, general Internet searches, and news articles related to foundation giving and to foundation board members to complete this project
Use Raiser’s Edge to ascertain whether prospective foundation board members have Paley Center giving histories
Assist in preparing supplemental materials for foundation, corporate, and government funding requests and reports
Assist in ongoing digitization and centralization project of historic funders’ files
Research companies, based on specific criteria, to develop a list of potential corporate members
Undertake basic research (phone calls; Internet) to update current contact information (title, company, emails) on prospects for upcoming tributes or galas in NY and LA
Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned
