Collections Curatorial Intern

Museum of the Moving Image

The collections management intern will assist in the process of reviewing objects in the Museum’s collection for possible deaccession. One to two days per week the intern will travel with the Collection Curator to the Museum’s off-site storage facility to examine technical apparatus. This will involve moving objects in order to inspect them closely, photographing them for reference, and rehousing them when necessary. At the Museum, the intern will assist the Collection Curator as she reviews books in the collection for possible deaccession into the Museum’s library. If objects are identified for deaccession, the intern will help the Registrarprepare the appropriate paperwork, and modify catalog records.
