Volunteer Coordinator Intern The Volunteer Coordinator Intern will take part in the planning and organization of MoMA PS1’s summer concert series, Warm Up, as well as other events and openings scheduled during the internship.
The intern’s main tasks will be recruiting, interviewing, scheduling, and managing volunteer staff. Duties will include the coordination and management of Warm Up volunteers, assisting front-of-house staff, and the set-up and breakdown of the event. As the main point of contact for staff regarding volunteers, the intern will learn how staff is organized and managed for a major event at a museum.
Qualifications The Volunteer Coordinator Intern should be a self-starter – enthusiastic, energetic, and eager to learn about contemporary art and music. She/he is well-organized, responsible, and comfortable taking a leadership role in a fast-paced environment. She/he is available to work weekends/nights, and be flexible about scheduling. Working knowledge of Altru and Shiftboard is a plus, but not a requirement.
