Curatorial Intern The internship focuses on the development of MoCA’s upcoming exhibition, The Poethical Wager, which will examine the sociopolitical imperative of formal artistic considerations through the work of 10 international artists. The exhibition demonstrates the ways in which contemporary artists utilize and reimagine strategies of abstraction, minimalism, and conceptual art to create new dialogues about the realities of contemporary life in late-stage global capitalism.
The Curatorial intern will support Senior Curator Andrea Hickey in the research and planning of this exhibition. Projects include:
producing the catalogue for the exhibition (e.g. image procurement and rights, copyediting, writing, design review)
creating installation timelines
compiling biblographies and reading for featured artists
creating formal lender correspondence and documenting progress
working with stakeholders on public art projects related to the exhibition
Qualifications The intern is thorough and committed, with a deep interest in contemporary art and curatorial practice. S/he has exemplary written and oral communication skills.
