Communications Intern The intern will focus on conducting research regarding outreach to foreign language audiences. Through their work, the student will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of these audiences to museums, and will enable them to develop and sharpen their research, interpersonal, and writing skills.
The intern will determine which planned and researched initiatives can be achieved in the short-term, and what can be determined by the Museums for long-term outreach and planning. This includes research, documentation of costs, levels of success, and contacts for any potential partners and any outside organizations or vendors. At the end of the summer, the intern will deliver a comprehensive final report that assists the Museums in decision-making and allocation of resources.
Developing a broad set of recommendations for enhanced outreach to foreign language audiences by the Harvard Art Museums
Analyzing what programs and materials are being offered at other Boston-area art museums, as well as select museums around the U.S.
Researching and documenting effective methods for reaching specific foreign language audiences
Qualifications The successful candidate is organized, independent, and has excellent writing and verbal communications skills. S/he will use the tools and resources to research, develop, and deliver a final report to the Communications Divison. Multilingual candidates preferred.
