This position involves the creation of updated profiles of Isamu Noguchi's public projects including those proposed and not made. These profiles will include all pertinent information such as title of work, creation dates, address, architects, owners (and new owners), site contact information, etc. Intern will be working closely with his/her Supervisor to conduct research using primary and secondary source material from the Noguchi archives as well as the use of electronic resources. Interns will gain a great knowledge of the artist's work internationally and gain an understanding of the collaborative process for architects, artists and others to complete public projects. The resulting volume will serve as a new finding aid for the archives department for scholars use and the catalogue raisonne department for reference.
The intern will be able to interpret, extrapolate and condense material from a variety of sources into a meaningful reference. Since the intern will have access to primary source material, he/she will have to adhere to all rules and regulations of use of archival material. Intern will also be keeping log of Archival files referenced.
