Potential interns submit their applications directly to the participating institutions. Please select an internship from the list of available positions and submit a letter of introduction to the appropriate contact person in the position listing. Do not submit an application to ArtsIntern!The letter of introduction should describe your interest in the arts as well as the specific position you are applying for. Describe why you feel you would enjoy the position, and how your skills might make for an appropriate match. Please also include a resume, or a written description of your work and education experience, including your interests, major and any awards or distinctions you may have received.
Program Eligibility
- Students must be attending a college or university within the five boroughs of New York City, or must be residents of New York City.
- Applicants must be enrolled full time, entering their sophomore, junior or senior year as candidates for an undergraduate degree. College graduates are not eligible to participate in the program.
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need at the time of their interview with the museum
- Applicants may be accepted from all areas of undergraduate study and need not have experience in the arts or prior experience.
- Students must commit to participate in all group programs offered by the program and complete all nine weeks of the internship.
FINANCIAL NEED QUALIFICATION
Students who demonstrate financial aid will have filed the United States Department of Education-Student Aid Report (SAR) and have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $6,000 or less for the most recent academic year.
Interns must present their financial aid award letter from their college or university, as well as their SAR, at the time of their interview.
