Marketing and Communications Intern The intern will be tasked with creating a marketing and communication plan for the Cleveland Museum of Natural History’s Community Engagement area. This newly-created department focuses on establishing, building, and maintaining relationships with organizations devoted to serving the diverse communities in Northeast Ohio. This project will allow Community Engagement to determine which materials are needed to maintain excellent communication with its current and future partners.
During the course of the internship, the Marketing & Communications intern will develop a communication timeline, highlight specific activities and museum programs to promote, design the online materials, and compose copy to support the plan. In addition, the intern will help develop and improve the Community Engagement web presence.
Qualifications The Marketing & Communications Intern must have strong communication, writing, and computer skills. The ideal candidate has experience writing press releases and is prepared to design or collaborate with a graphic designer to generate online materials, such as web pages. He/she is a team-player, and will enjoy working with a small, tight-knit department on deadline-driven projects. Due to the nature of the project, the intern will be expected to research and understand CMNH’s mission, programs, and collections, as well as the strategic plan for coming years.
